Prenatal Class Day 4: Pain Relief in Labour and Care of Newborns

By the time Day 4 of the prenatal class came around, we pretty much knew what to expect. I was in particular looking forward to more goodies in the goodie bag! :) Here's what we got on the fourth day:

Day 4 goodie bag

Sebamed products

Drypers disposable diapers

Pureen stretch mark cream

The first talk of the evening was given by one of the hospital's anaesthesiologists (I think this is how it's spelt; I can never get the spelling of these names correctly). She briefly described what types of pain relief are available in labour, the most effective being an epidural anaesthesia("epidural"). We had earlier also watched a short video on how an epidural is given. Epidurals are relatively safe but it can also cause some unpleasant side effects such as nausea, headache and backache if not administered correctly.

I think I have decided not to use an epidural and to give it a try the good ol' fashioned way. In any event, there will be a form of pain relief in a combination of oxygen and nitrous oxide (laughing gas) which is on hand in every labour room. We saw what it looked like the other day during the maternity ward tour. Hopefully I can endure it. If anyone has any pain relief stories to share, please do let me know.

After the talk, the doctor also showed us the different types of needles used for administering the drugs, either by an epidural or by a spinal anaesthesia, which is also a form of pain relief given during a caesarean section. The epidural needle is pretty thick, hence the high probability of having backache. The spinal needle however is very fine and therefore will not cause any backache.

Later, after the usual break, we had a consultant paediatrician and neonatologist (newborn specialist) talk to us about the care of babies at birth. He told us that if our babies look a bit funny just after they are born, not to worry as the baby will retain water hence making them look puffy and their skin may be blotchy. He also told us how to care for newborns and the different types of immunizations or vaccines that they will need for the first few months of their lives. So Baby, this is where Mummy and Daddy have to spend more $$$!

All in all, we were quite satisfied with the classes we have attended over the last four days. The talks were informative and interesting, and able to prepare us well for what is ahead. It was money well spent indeed.

Babytalk: Yawn!

My Mummy and Daddy have been attending prenatal classes at Adventist Hospital to prepare for my arrival.

The talks are quite long and I get bored easily even though Mummy and Daddy enjoy listening to those people talking. Like yesterday night, I was moving and squirming all around Mummy's tummy. So boring for me. I prefer it when Mummy goes shopping or watches TV. At least I can hear her voice and also Daddy's voice instead of strangers.

Good thing the classes are over. Tonight Mummy and Daddy are going shopping at Jaya Jusco, yay! They are going to see if they can get some things for me since tonight is Jaya Jusco members' day with special discounts and the store opens until 12 am. Mummy and Daddy want to see if they can get a car seat for me because they haven't bought one yet.

I am getting impatient to come out. But Mummy tells me everyday that I need to wait until the right time so that I will be a strong and healthy baby. I normally respond by sticking my elbows into Mummy's ribs. Sorry Mummy for making you uncomfortable sometimes, but it's uncomfortable for me too! It's very cramped in here, you know. Daddy always marvels how a big baby can fit into such a small space. Daddy, it's just a miracle :)

Prenatal Class Day 3: Breathing exercises, floor exercises and baby massage

The third day of our prenatal class started at about 7.55 pm and as we entered the auditorium, we got these:

Third day goodie bag

Facial wash and cracked heel cream

Avent breast milk storage cup

I guess by this time we quite look forward to getting our goodie bags to see what was inside! :) Initially I thought that we would only get it on the first day.

Anyway, the talk was given by the one of Adventist Hospital's physiotherapists and she began her session by telling us about the usual aches and pains a woman usually gets during pregnancy. She also taught us some breathing exercises that can come in useful during labour. I think the whole point of learning these breathing techniques is that it makes you concentrate and focus on your breathing so as to distract you from the pain. However, she did mention that if one was to elect for an epidural then all these breathing techniques are not necessary.

After that, she talked to us about baby massage and gave a brief demonstration on it. At Adventist Hospital they have a special class for baby massage in which they teach only parents (not grandparents or maids) how to bond with and massage their baby. I told Hubby the babies nowadays so "hoh mia", even have special massage for them. I have never even had a proper massage before :p

Baby massaging over, it was time for the usual biscuit and soya milk/milo break.

After the break, we came back to the auditorium to find exercise mats and pillows placed on the floor. I brought my own yoga mat (borrowed from sister-in-law) since the day before we were advised to bring our own in case they did not have enough. The first part of the floor exercises was the wife massage..aahh..how nice. In this session, they taught the husbands how to give their wives massages to help relieve all the aches and pains, especially in the neck and back.

That done, it was time for the ladies to learn some exercises to help strengthen their abdominal and pelvic muscles. This would be particularly useful during labour as well as after delivery for faster recovery.

We ended class at almost 10.45 on the third day. Although it was long, but it was fun! Looking forward to the last day.

Prenatal Class Day 2: O&G talk

The second day of the prenatal class started punctually at 7.45 pm with a talk given by one of the hospital's consultant O&G (I didn't spell it out in full because I don't know how to spell it! :p) specialists. Although he looked rather young, his talk was clear, precise and informative.

Just like the first day, we were given another goodie bag with more free stuff inside as we entered the auditorium for the talk. We got these on the second day:

Second day goodie bag

Breast pads and stretch mark/nappy rash cream samples

Before the class however, Hubby took me to have dinner at the Midlands shopping centre opposite the hospital. We had noodles at a Taiwan cafe. This is me enjoying my dinner-noodles with dumplings:

Hubby's dinner-seafood mee suah:

Anyway, back to the talk. The first part of the talk was about ante-natal care, development of the baby and screening for fetal abnormalities during the different trimesters. Most of what the doctor spoke about we had already learnt from reading materials as well as off the internet, but it was no harm to listen to it again to refresh our memory. One thing that we found quite useful was learning how to count the baby's kicks to make sure that the baby is moving constantly. He said that the baby should kick 10 times in 12 hours. So today I started counting Baby's kicks. So far she has kicked/moved 6 times today since 7.00 am this morning.

After a short break of drinks and biscuits, the talk proceeded with the doctor speaking on changes during pregnancy, complications during pregnancy as well as labour and delivery. It was interesting to know what could possibly happen and what are the steps to be taken by the doctor and hospital if such an event were to happen.

The talk ended at about 9.50 pm.

Prenatal Class Day 1: Nutrition, Breastfeeding and Baths

We woke up early, despite it being a Sunday morning as we were anticipating the first day of the prenatal class conducted by Adventist Hospital.

After breakfast, we made our way to the Nursing Auditorium where the class was to be conducted. We registered ourselves and were given a goodie bag with information about the talks, facilities offered by the hospital as well as some freebies. We got these:

The goodie bag

Samples of disposable diapers

More freebies

The first talk started punctually at 10.00 am and the topic was on prenatal and postnatal nutrition. It was given by one of the hospital's dietitians. She did mention that different races have different "pantang-larang" about what can be eaten and what cannot be eaten during pregnancy and after delivery, but she concluded that all kinds of food can be eaten, the key word being moderation. So I cheekily told Hubby that I can now eat watermelon, rojak and ice cream. No such luck, however! :p

The next talk on breastfeeding benefits and tecnique at 11.00 am was presented by one of the lactation nurses. She was quite amusing in her talk and demonstrated what colustrum (early milk) and mature milk looked like, besides showing us the correct method of breastfeeding and holding the baby. She also said that they encourage the baby to room-in with the mother so that she can breastfeed exclusively.

After that we proceed downstairs for a light lunch of of fried beehoon, vegetarian pohpiah and cut fruits of watermelon and honeydew (Adventist Hospital serves exclusively vegetarian food). As expected, I wasn't allowed to have any watermelon, just honeydew. So much for what the dietitian said...haha :)

Over lunch, we also had a talk by one of the companies on cord blood banking in which they store the baby's cord blood (from the unbilical cord) once the baby is born. This cord blood can be used to help cure diseases suffered by any of the baby's parents or siblings. We had heard about this before but we decided not to take it up because it is still in the research stage and there is no concrete guarantee that the cord blood will be 100% effective.

After lunch, we had a talk on baby bath demonstration. Besides learning how to bathe the baby, we were also taught how to fold nappies. The instructor then asked for four volunteers to demonstrate wearing the nappies on life-sized dolls, but for the fun of it, decided to ask the fathers to demonstrate instead of the mothers. The four fathers who went up were quite skillful though!

The last part of the first day sessions was a tour of the maternity ward. We were shown the different types of rooms; 3-bedded, 2-bedded (semi-private), private and VIP. The VIP room was really nice and it even had an LCD TV mounted on the wall. However, this would set a patient back RM3,000-00, so no need-lah. We were also shown the labour room and the waiting area for family. Fathers are allowed in the labour room, but if they did not want to go in, they had a special fathers' waiting room for them.

So all in all it was an informative first day. Day 2 report coming up.

Prenatal Class

Hubby and I will be attending the prenatal class this Sunday until Wednesday at Penang Adventist Hospital. It cost us RM125-00 for a four-day class. On Sunday it will be held from 10 am to 2 pm and Monday to Wednesday from 7.45 pm to 9.45 pm.

Taken from the Adventist Hospital website, the course objectives are as follows:

*To let mother & husband be aware of her/his wife's changes during pregnancy.
*To know the development of their baby in her womb.
*To understand her nutritional needs.
*To enable her/him to take care of herself/his wife during pregnancy and postnatal period.
*To prepare the mother for labour & delivery.
*To educate the parents on the benefits of breastfeeding & care of their newborn baby.

Since first-time mothers are encouraged to attend, we signed up for it even though the schedule is quite tight, four days in a row. Hopefully we will be able to digest the information quick enough!

The topics covered will be:

*Day 1 – Sunday
Nutrients Required For Mother & Baby
Healthy Postnatal Diet
Breastfeeding Benefits & Technique
Baby Bath Demonstration

*Day 2 – Monday
Prenatal Care
Development of the Baby
Screening for Foetal Abnormalities
Changes During Pregnancy
Complications During Pregnancy
Labour and Delivery

*Day 3 – Tuesday

Immunization & Minor Problems During Infancy
Pain Relief in Labour
Video Show on Epidural Analgesia During Labour
Tour of Maternity Ward

*Day 4 - Wednesday
Prenatal & Relaxation Exercises
Breathing Techniques in Labour
Baby Massage (Overview)

I think overall we have made the right choice in selecting Adventist for our prenatal checkups as well as to deliver Baby there. It has achieved Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) which is a global programme launched by the World Health Organization (WHO) and United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF), and supported by the Ministry of Health, Malaysia. They strongly promote breast-feeding and for the baby to room in with the mother after they are born.

Besides that, they are also a husband friendly hospital and enourage husbands to be there at the birth and delivery of their babies and they may also stay at the hospital if they wish to do so.

So we are quite looking forward to it. I will update what we have learnt after we attend the classes.

Leg cramps

I have had leg cramps 2 nights in a row now, and boy are they painful! Last night was my left leg, and the night before my right leg. I used to wake Hubby up to massage my leg when it happens, but lately I have let him sleep and try to see whether I can endure the pain. I guess if I can "tahan" this pain, I should be able to go through labour pains..haha..

Also, my sister-in-law said to try not to massage the leg when the cramps hit, so as to avoid the veins in the leg popping out. I don't know how far it's true, but better to be safe than sorry right? If that happens, I'm sure that it will not be a pretty sight.

So now I have two sore legs, but the soreness usually disappears in a day or two, so it's nothing to worry about.

Pram is short for Perambulator

I had earlier posted about Baby's pram but I forgot that it is not quite complete.

This is how it should look like:

The finished product

Earlier I forgot that there was supposed to be a cushiony thing inside and a mosquito net attached to it as well. So now it's complete!

Laundry Day

Yesterday I decided to start washing Baby's clothes. Even though the clothes that people had given us had already been washed, we were advised to wash them again, and that definitely goes for the new clothes that we bought from the store as well.

We had earlier bought two types of detergent to wash Baby's clothes so yesterday I tried this one:

It's pink!

It had a really pleasant smell and after the clothes were washed, Baby's clothes smelt like flowers :) I hung them up and they looked so cute because all the clothes were so tiny, especially the little socks and mittens! Unfortunately this morning it was raining cats and dogs and the wind was pretty strong, so I put extra pegs on the clothes in case they fly away.

We also bought this:

At first I thought that this was exclusively for washing "lampin", but upon close inspection of the bottle, I discovered that it could also be used to wash baby clothes. However, the smell is not as nice as Tollyjoy's detergent, so we may just stick to using it for "lampin".

I washed one batch yesterday, so I still have one more to go today. Hopefully the weather clears up nicely today and tomorrow.

Babytalk: My new toy

Look at what my Daddy bought for me:

The reason Daddy bought this for me is because he says that since I am born in the year of the Ox of the Chinese Lunar Calendar, I should have a toy cow :) My Mummy thinks it doesn't really look like a cow though, but it doesn't matter because it's cute! It's one of those toys that can't fall down even though you push it over. I'm not exactly sure how to describe it, but I think you know what I mean :)

Speaking of oxen and cows, Daddy also calls me "gu beh lat" which means "strong ox" in Hokkien because I am continuing to kick Mummy all over very hard and sometimes poke my elbows and knees (which are becoming quite sharp) into her. But Mummy and Daddy are glad because they want me to be a strong healthy baby.

I feel like...

There are just some days when I feel like the most unglamorous person in the world. Early on I had resolved that I would never be one of those "lam nua" pregnant women who don't dress up, don't wear make-up, waddle when they walk and generally just look plain dowdy.

Nevertheless, I think I can identify with them now. On certain days I feel like this:

Or this:

No doubt, I don't look fat, and I try hard to walk normally (even though walking "kang-kang" is easier at times!). I also take pains to do my hair and put on my make-up as usual (although sometimes I just don't feel like it). However, I must admit it takes an effort. Especially when I know that I can't fit into my skinny jeans, baby Ts and cute dresses anymore. So why bother?

I bother because although I may not be a runway mom , I still like to look nice and presentable, not only so that my husband can be proud of his "hot" pregnant wife (I wish I were!), but also because it gives me a sense of satisfaction to look good. Hubby always says that I'm still the prettiest girl for him no matter what but to truly believe that I need to believe that I am myself.

Let's hope this lasts until the end! :)

April 16, 2009

Elbows and Knees

I am beginning to feel Baby's elbows and/or knees when she is moving in my tummy. It's like a sharp bone that sometimes sticks out of my tummy and if I put my hand on it I can feel something hard.

Also, I can't really sleep on my right side anymore because her leg/knee is there (according to the doctor) and it pokes me when I lie on it.

So Baby's movements are no longer just kicks and flutters, but I can really feel her now and truly believe that there's a tiny human being inside me waiting to see the world.

Not too long now Baby! :)

More of Baby's things

We are very blessed to have so many things given to us by friends and family for Baby. Like I mentioned in my earlier post, Chia Yin gave us some adorable fluffy bootees from Isabelle:

Fluffy bootees with koalas

And colourful butterflies - aren't they pretty?

Also teddy bears!

Besides the bootees, she also gave us some shoes for Baby:

All so adorable

And we also got this dress:

So sweet!

Baby will definitely look like a little princess once we dress her up in these things :)

We also got a pram from Hubby's sister. At first we thought it was rather bulky but it's suitable for newborn and young babies as it allows the baby to lie down and sleep in the pram. It's quite nice and helps us to save a few hundred ringgit as prams nowadays are rather expensive. The pram looks like this:

Nice!

So all in all we have almost everything for Baby. However, I do believe there are still things coming our way as Hubby's other sister still has things to pass to us. Will post here when we get more things :)

Babytalk: Visit to the doctor

My Mummy didn't want to wake up this morning because she was very sleepy, not having enough sleep last night. So I kicked and kicked her and sat on her bladder until she was forced to wake up :) I think she is now at work and grumpy because it is Monday morning and she wants to sleep!

Anyway, yesterday Mummy and Daddy paid a visit to Dr Zovi for their usual monthly check-up. This time Dr Zovi scanned Mummy's tummy so they could all admire me. I was pretty active yesterday, kicking and moving around while the doctor was examining Mummy. The doctor checked all my vital statistics and said that I was growing well, as far as she could see on the scan. Mummy also did not have any signs of pre-eclampsia (high blood pressure during pregnancy) or gestational diabetes.

So Mummy and Daddy were happy that everything was okay. Just the night before they prayed for me that I would be healthy and safe and that Mummy would be healthy as well.

However, Dr Zovi did say that Mummy had put on a little extra weight this month than she should have. But Mummy wonders why because she does not really over-eat or snack on junk food or sweet things. Mummy and Daddy think it's probably due to all the water retention. They have noticed that Mummy's feet seem to be swelling more in the last couple of weeks.

So anyway, Daddy took Mummy to have a walk in the evening at the Esplanade. Mummy walked while Daddy had a jog. Daddy says its healthy for him too since he thinks he is too fat. The doctor says that moderate exercise is good for Mummy so Daddy plans to do this on a regular basis until I am born, and probably after that too so that Mummy can get her slim figure back! :)

Good Friday

Today is Good Friday, the Friday immediately preceding Easter Sunday. On this day Christians commemorate the death on the cross of Jesus Christ.

Even though Good Friday marks a sad occasion, we Christians have every reason to rejoice because although Jesus died on Friday and was buried, on Easter Sunday He was resurrected from the grave and that is the reason to celebrate.

Jesus died to take away the sins of all mankind and all those who believe in Him shall not have to fear death, but will be given the gift of salvation and eternal life (John 3:16).

The biblical account of Jesus' death on the cross and His resurrection can be found in the following passages of Scripture: Matthew 27:27-28:8; Mark 15:16-16:19; Luke 23:26-24:35; and John 19:16-20:30.

So here's wishing everyone from Hubby, Baby and I:

Baby Fats?

Ok.. since my hon has started on the topic of food and pictures taken at local eateries, I am just going to add a little on our sizes... what she has posted was the pictures of the "earlier edition" of our looks & sizes :-) Due to the accumulative effects of our constant reoccurance of symptom "the-Love-of-Snapshots-at-Eateries", in brief, "LSE", we have put on quite a heap of baby fats (just to console myself)... And you can more or less imagine how our up-coming baby is going to look like! Chubby??! Haha...Here are some of our recent photos of LSE in date sequence:

Buffet Dinner at Cititel, Penang
Food Rating: XXX00
Ambience Rating: XXX00
Price: Reasonable... eat all you can for 2hrs plus... oklar:-)

Dinner at Maa Roy (hope I've spelt correctly) Abu Siti Lane
Food Rating: XXXX0
Ambience Rating: XX000
Price: Reasonable... its run by Siamese...

Dinner at one of the "chu char" shops at Sungai Ara (couldn't remember the name)
Food Rating: XXX00
Ambience Rating:XX000
Price: Reasonable.... normal chu-char rate...

As for my hon, she has every reason to put on weight and according to the March of Dimes, a woman who started pregnancy at a normal weight should expect to gain about 25 to 35 pounds over nine months (for those who want to find out more detail, you can click on this link: http://www.ahealthyme.com/topic/enoughweight). As for me there are even more reasons to put on: -
1) To accompany her to eat on a regular basis, so when she eats, i eat, we both eat :-)
2) Overjoyed - happy people eventually will have good appetites :-)
3) Doing all the energy consuming housework, so eventually will have to eat more :-)
4) Need to keep assuring my hon that she's still slimmer than me, so have to beat her weight :-)
5) Lots more............. :-)

*(jz joking, in case you don't get it!)*

Well, I guess the reason I've put on weight is just "tam-chia" a.ka. greedy... But somehow somewhere it has to have something to do with the baby and the reason is "Happy" and as i said earlier, "Happy people will have good appetites!" I told my hon that I have to slim down before our baby is due because I want to look good in my very first "father and daughter" photo with our baby to leave her the impression that, "Umm.. my daddy was (hopefully "is") handsome." :-) I don't want her to look at the picture 10 years down the road and make comments like, "My chubby daddy!"

And before I end this post, I just want to let my lovely wife know that no matter how much weight she has gained, to me, she is still the prettiest... and to my baby, daddy is waiting fervently for our first snapshots!

Hubby and I + Our Good Friends

To continue from my previous post, gallivanting looking for food has always required the presence of good company. So here are some of our "partners-in-crime" :)

From left: Steven, Chia Yin, Isabelle, Kok Hsiang, June Siang & Max

Steven, Kok Hsiang and Max have been Hubby's friends since their days in Penang Free School. Another good friend, Tze Ming and his wife Chou Feung are currently residing in KL.

Kok Hsiang and Chia Yin's daughter Isabelle is now 2 years old and she is such a sweetheart. Last weekend Chia Yin passed over to Baby some of Isabelle's clothes which she has outgrown. She especially has the most adorable fluffy booties (I will post the pictures here later). Baby says thank you to Jie-Jie Isabelle! :)

Clockwise: Szu Fu, Karen, Jenny and Ai Nee - having buffet dinner at Cititel Hotel

These are our "lawyer" friends. Karen and Ai Nee were our CLP classmates and we later on met Jenny and Szu Fu in practice. This is our usual lunch-time group and sometimes we go for dinner after work (hence the makan-makan).

Ai Nee is also a mummy to Baby Darrel and she has lent me her maternity clothes so I don't have to spend too much to buy that many. Thanks Ai Nee! :)

Hubby and I

It was recently commented that the photos taken of ourselves are mostly at local eateries. Looking back, it does seem to be true! Baby will think that her parents really know how to enjoy life :) Here are some of the photos taken in and around Penang (and KL):

Corner Club Restaurant, Gurney Drive

Lunch at The Ship, Batu Ferringhi

Later drinks at Rasa Sayang Resort

Pavillion, KL (cannot remember exactly where)

Bagan Lounge, Penang

My birthday this year at Nando's, Gurney Plaza

Golden Triangle, Queensbay Mall

New Year's Eve @ Queensbay after dinner at TGIF

Looks like Hubby and I need to make the most of the time we have together. Once Baby arrives, we will no longer have that much time to "jalan-jalan cari makan" :)

Babytalk: I like to move it move it

I'm beginning to grow used to my life inside my Mummy's tummy. My new hobby is exploring my surroundings and I do that with my little hands and feet. I am quite amazed that I can touch and poke and prod Mummy. I hope I'm not causing her too much pain or discomfort because sometimes I get quite near to her rib cage.

I also like to do somersaults and kick Mummy, especially when I'm hungry and again when I am full. When Mummy eats something yummy, I respond by kicking her to let her know I like it too! My Mummy likes to eat spicy food, so maybe I will develop a taste for it when I grow older.

My Mummy and Daddy are quite amused when they see my movements because it causes Mummy's tummy to jump up and down. It's almost as if I am jumping up and down. Sometimes my movements also cause a ripple-like or wave-like effect on Mummy's tummy. Also when I hiccup, Mummy's tummy makes tiny movements.

I'm growing bigger these days, so there's not too much space for me to move around anymore. But I am quite comfortable and warm because I feel protected inside Mummy's tummy. I wonder what the outside world will be like when I am ready to leave this cosy place. I am sure I will not like it that much at first, but will slowly get used to it. After all, I am looking forward to seeing what my Mummy and Daddy look like! All this while I can only hear their voices, especially my Daddy's because he has a very LOUD voice. He likes to talk to me and ask me what I am doing. I wish I could reply him back and tell him I can't wait to come out and see him and Mummy.

Okay, I think I will go back to sleep now. Yawn! I spend most of my time doing that anyway since there's nothing much to do in here! My Mummy needs me to settle down for a while so she can concentrate on doing her work. I'll probably wake up a little later and kick Mummy again so she will know I am hungry! Okay..closing my eyes now..goodnight!

Insomnia

I have been having these bouts of insomnia about at least one or two times a week in which I have been waking up in the middle of the night and cannot sleep. It's rather annoying because I need my rest so I can wake up for work the next day. But what to do, when I cannot sleep, I just cannot sleep! I have read that pregnancy can also trigger sleeping problems.

Anyway, since I am awake at about 4 am in the morning, I have discovered that watching television is quite handy in making me sleepy again so that I can go back to sleep. Switching on the telly at 4 am in the morning, I have discovered an old gem of a show which I used to enjoy with my mum back when I was young. Indeed it was our quality time together. What was the show? Well, it was this:

"Murder She Wrote" was an hour-long show about a mystery writer cum amateur detective named Jessica Fletcher and it starred the very talented Angela Lansbury in the lead role. I had no idea that the show was still running on air, albeit at a very unlikely time.

Anyhow, it's good enough to entertain me when I have my bouts of insomnia. I am so glad that good old-fashioned TV is still around.

Twitter

There are too many social networking tools on the internet nowadays. Gone are the days of IRC and ICQ when I used to sneak out of bed at night to chat online. Then there was Friendster who has seemed to die a quiet death. Then the recent hype is Facebook. (Do you know that the creator of Facebook is now a billionaire and the number-dunno-wat richest man in America?) In between there were all sorts of things like Tagged, Flickr, MySpace and others which I can't remember their names.

And now there is Twitter. I'm still finding it rather confusing, much like Facebook when I first started using it. Oh well, better keep up with the times. I wouldn't want my kids to say that I am a dinosaur (although I feel like one now!) Haha..
