New hairstyle

Yesterday Ah Mah took me for a haircut. Because my hair is wavy, it tends to get messy when it is long and the sides of my hair always get in the way of my face, especially when I am eating.

So I surprised Mummy when she came home from work yesterday with my new hairstyle. Mummy says quite "sayang" to cut my hair so short, and asked me did I cry at the hairdressers. I told her I did not cry and Ah Mah said my hair will grow back very fast, which is true - my hair grows very quickly.

Daddy came home from work later and also asked me if I cried when my hair was cut. But Daddy also said it is better for me this way - less hot and easier to manage.

This is the first time that my hair has been this short (well, not counting when I was a baby), so I guess it will take some getting used to. Don't worry, Daddy and Mummy, my hair will grow back really quickly!

A morning at Gurney Plaza

Last Saturday, Daddy had to teach extra class at his college (so boring!) so Mummy took me jalan-jalan at Gurney Plaza while waiting for him to finish.

I went to all my usual favourite places. First stop was Toys R Us where I never get bored looking at the same toys again and again. Then we went to the kiddie rides place where they had something new - a little kiddie house with a slide. Mummy says I am now too big for the slide. When I sit on it, my feet almost touch the ground.

After that, we went to MPH to look at some books. I chose a few books and Mummy bought them for me (Daddy and Mummy don't mind to buy books because they can get income tax rebate :P) When I found a book I liked, I plopped myself down on the floor to read the books. Daddy says I thought this was Borders at Queensbay Mall where they have a children's corner for kids like me to read books.

After that, we were both a little thirsty, so we sat down to have a drink. While Mummy enjoyed her orange juice, I insisted on colouring my new colouring book which we bought from MPH. The colour pencils are new too - I chose them myself.

After that, I indulged in another favourite activity - sand art! Mummy did not take any pictures because she was busy helping me with the sand. Nowadays I am much better though, Mummy does not need to help me as much.

All in all, it was a fun morning - I like to go to Gurney Plaza very much!

Japanese doll

My mummy says I look like a Japanese doll in this photo taken by Ah Cik. I also look much older than my 2 years and 10 months. What do you all think?

Disney on Ice

The day to go and watch Disney on Ice finally came. It was a very excited little girl who went to sleep the night before and the same excited little girl who woke up the next morning. We left the house early to go and have breakfast before going for the show which was scheduled to start at 11 am. She couldn't even sit still through breakfast and when we finally parked the car at PISA, she was hopping and skipping all the way to the arena.

Even when we got inside, she was still very excited.

We had quite a good view of the rink.

Little gal took a picture with the rink in the backdrop.

And one of our family. She's not too happy here because she was being restrained to take the picture. She wanted to go and explore since the show had not yet started.

When the show started and all the characters that she was familiar with came out (Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Pluto, Donald Duck & Daisy Duck), she was really really excited and waved her hands at them since they were waving to the audience.

All in all, it was a fun experience, and I suspect that we enjoyed it more than she did! :) She is still not at the age to have a long attention span so she sort of got a little disinterested towards the second half of the show. But at the end, those sitting at the rinkside seats got to stand around the rink and shake hands with the characters while it "snowed". I managed to get a short video clip right at the very end. We were under the impression that cameras and videos were not allowed during the performance, but before the show started, they announced that we could take pictures and videos so long as they were for our own personal enjoyment. So it was a pity that we did not take a better camera, and had to rely on my phone camera.

This morning Hannah asked, "Mummy, can I go and see Disney on Ice again?" I told her" Of course, when they come to Penang the next time" :)

So boring!

Hannah has a new favourite expression: "So boring!"

Some examples of when we hear it (and it's quite often nowadays!) - the way she says it is pretty amusing :)

Hannah asks Mummy: Where is Daddy?
Mummy: Daddy had to go out very early this morning to take the flight to KL
Hannah: So boring!

On another occasion:
Hannah: Where is Daddy?
Mummy: Daddy is teaching - he has night class today
Hannah: Why every time teaching and teaching? So boring!

And yet another occasion:
Hannah: I don't like this McDonald's, I like the other one, this McDonald's is SO BORING!
Mummy: ??!

Hannah's new car seat

With the implementation of the rear seat belt rule, we thought it was high time Hannah was safely buckled into her own seat rather than being allowed to sit at the back unbuckled. We considered for quite some time contemplating whether or not to buy as we were thinking it would be a waste of money if she refuses to sit in it. However, we decided that we would be firm and insist that she use it despite if she cries or asks to be unbuckled.

So after some time and much deliberation on which one to get, we settled for one from Mothercare at a reasonable price. There were only two choices of colours, pink and black. We would have preferred the black one as it would be easier to maintain, but little girl decided she wanted the pink one, and we have learnt from experience to always go with her choice, otherwise it will end up being a waste.

As with all new things, she was very excited at first. She willingly got into the seat and let us buckle her up.

Hubby also bought her matching "superstar" sunnies which she wanted to wear as well.

It had been quite a long day morning out and she was up early that morning. Usually when she wants to nap or sleep, either one of us has to carry her koala bear style in the back seat. But in her new booster seat, she actually managed to doze off. Both of us were very surprised.

Let's see how long the novelty lasts :)
