Weekend snapshots

Nanna told Mummy that she has not been taking enough photos of me lately. So since this weekend Daddy had to go to office both Saturday and Sunday preparing for a trial at court on Monday, Mummy spent a lot of time with me and took quite a lot of photos! Oh by the way, Daddy's trial did not go on on Monday and the court postponed it to another date. Daddy was pretty mad that he had to waste his weekend, but what to do? This is the Malaysian court system :p

I like to sit outside the front door while waiting for Mummy and Daddy to lock up, Mummy says I shouldn't sit there, but Mummy and Daddy have discovered some time ago that I am pretty strong-willed. When I want to do something, it's not easy to stop me!

See, this is my face when Mummy says "No" :p

Before Daddy went to the office, we had breakfast. Daddy bought me a muffin and here I am demonstrating how big my mouth is:

Or perhaps this is an easier way to eat??

On Sunday was also Pei Zi's full moon..she was a very sleepy baby though because she was up the whole night before and didn't want to sleep. Even when Ah Mah gave her a bath she was barely awake! After that she got all dressed in her new clothes..isn't she cute? Everybody says she is much chubbier now than when she was born :)

This is me after waking up from my nap - grumpy Hannah!

Ah Mah also bought me a new colour pencils and colouring book because I lately like to draw on paper, and almost everything else! Mummy was surprised to see pen drawings in my ears the other day!

See how hard I am concentrating:

Here are some of my happy faces. Daddy and Bryan kor-kor were making me laugh and laugh! :)

Little Helper

Hannah is Ah Mah's little helper (or at least, she tries to be!) Her latest interest is sweeping the floor. She doesn't know the difference between a broom and a mop, however, so everything to her is "mop, mop!"

Here she is attempting to sweep the outside of the house. If you look closely, there is a little piece of red paper which she is trying to sweep up, but after awhile she gives up and walks away!

Where's Hannah's shoe?

Hannah has got this recent obsession with shoes too big for her feet. She will attempt to wear other peoples' shoes and walk around in them. More often she will just wear one side of the shoe and sort of shuffle along.

She can also identify shoes belonging to different people. Especially if she wants to go out, she will bring to me/Daddy/Ah Gong/Ah Mah their exact matching pair of shoes, as well her own shoes, indicating she wants to go "kai-kai".

In the video below, she is pointing out shoes belonging to different people:

Hannah and Pei Zi

This is my new cousin, Goh Pei Zi (it's pronounced "Zhi" and not "Zee"). She was born on 28 July 2010. Isn't she cute? :) Mummy and Daddy says she reminds them of when I was that little. Now I am a big girl compared to Pei Zi.

I sayang my little cousin a lot. Mummy and Daddy taught me that I need to be gentle with her, so as you can see, I am gently stroking her head. At first, I was jealous whenever Daddy, Mummy or Ah Mah would carry her. I would cry and ask them to "bao bao" me instead. Now I am used to it and will no longer cry. I can also help Ah Mah to take Pei Zi's things for her.

I also like to kiss Pei Zi. Everytime I walk pass her, I will bend down and kiss her. Aren't I a good "jie jie"?

Me, Mummy and Pei Zi :)

Rolled Bread Toast

Last weekend, I attempted to make a snack for Hannah which I obtained from the Neslac Excella Gold website. They have plenty of healthy recipes for one year old and above toddlers.

Anyway, not being very ambitious (I am not much of a cook :p), I decided to try the easiest recipe available - Rolled Bread Toast. As you can see, the end result is not that appealing, but rest assured it tasted yummy and even Hubby enjoyed it too! :) I may however use a little less strawberry jam the next time as it was slightly too sweet for my liking.

Look at the strawberry jam oozing out:

Here is the recipe:

Rolled Bread Toast

Preparation: 20 mins
Cooking: 20 mins
Makes: 2 pieces
Suitable for: children aged 1 year and above

Ingredients

2 slices white/whole meal bread
½ tsp strawberry jam
1 egg, lightly beaten
30 gm milk that is suitable for your child
1 tsp cooking oil

Cooking Method

Mix egg, milk and cooking oil together.
Remove crust from bread; spread strawberry jam on bread.
Roll tightly bread and chill for 10 minutes.
Then dip rolled bread, one at a time in beaten egg mixture.
Cook in lightly grease pan until browned all sides and serve.

Hannah's Anatomy

Hannah can point to various parts of her body, and she can understand both English and Mandarin. She still gets "hair" and "hand" mixed up sometimes, though.

She didn't have the patience to sit still for so long, so the video had to be in three different parts :p

Boss Hannah

Last weekend we took Hannah to visit her aunts' office over on the mainland. She totally enjoyed herself sitting on the swivel chairs. Her Daddy said she looked like a little tow-kay soh (lady boss) :)

As usual after an exciting day for her, she fell asleep in the car on the way home.

In the evening, we wanted to go out for dinner so we dressed her up in a new top and skirt. Hannah seldom wears skirts but it's time she started becoming more ladylike..haha..

Look at her dancing to "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" :)

Sweet little Hannah!

Bros bottle and Disney Bear

Besides becoming a big sister last week to her newborn cousin, Hannah also was introduced to her newborn "aunty". Yes, that's right. My father's cousin (so technically my uncle) just had a second daughter, so she is correctly my cousin, which would make her Hannah's aunt! Mind-boggling. Anyway, no pictures for now though.

So besides all the exciting new arrivals in our family, Hannah also mastered a new skill a few weeks ago. She can now drink from a straw! :) Since she can now do so, I bought her a Bros bottle with a straw and surprisingly enough, she can drink the entire bottle at one go at times! Must be the novelty of using the straw..haha.

So here she is drinking her water and watching "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse", her favourite show.

Hannah also got a new toy from Caroline, who was back in Penang from the States for her summer break. This is an original Disney Bear all the way from Walt Disney World, Florida. Isn't he cute? When Hannah first saw it, she couldn't stop saying "bear bear, bear bear".

The reason he's called a Disney Bear is because he has the imprint of Mickey Mouse on his face. Do you see it? :)

And on the soles of his feet too - spot the hidden Mickey! :)
