Happy Thanksgiving!

It's the day after Thanksgiving, but technically it still is Thanksgiving in the US :) And since we don't celebrate it here anyway, we can follow US time :)

Everyday should be Thanksgiving, as we always have plenty to be thankful for, a nice home, good health, family, food to eat, clothes to wear etc.

As for us, in addition to all of the above, we have these 3 little faces to be thankful for:

For each new morning with its light,
For rest and shelter of the night,
For health and food,
For love and friends,
For everything Thy goodness sends.

For flowers that bloom about our feet;
For tender grass, so fresh, so sweet;
For song of bird, for hum of bee;
For all things fair we hear or see;

Father in heaven, we thank Thee!

- Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882)

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good;
    His love endures forever.

- 1 Chronicles 16:34 (NIV)

Footprints

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed He was walking along the beach with the LORD. Across the sky flashed scenes from His life. For each scene He noticed two sets of footprints in the sand. One belonging to Him and the other to the LORD.

When the last scene of His life flashed before Him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of His life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times of His life.

This really bothered Him and He questioned the LORD about it. LORD you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me.

The LORD replied, my precious, precious child, I Love you and I would never leave you! During your times of trial and suffering when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.

Good Friday

Today is Good Friday, the Friday immediately preceding Easter Sunday. On this day Christians commemorate the death on the cross of Jesus Christ.

Even though Good Friday marks a sad occasion, we Christians have every reason to rejoice because although Jesus died on Friday and was buried, on Easter Sunday He was resurrected from the grave and that is the reason to celebrate.

Jesus died to take away the sins of all mankind and all those who believe in Him shall not have to fear death, but will be given the gift of salvation and eternal life (John 3:16).

The biblical account of Jesus' death on the cross and His resurrection can be found in the following passages of Scripture: Matthew 27:27-28:8; Mark 15:16-16:19; Luke 23:26-24:35; and John 19:16-20:30.

So here's wishing everyone from Hubby, Baby and I:
