From Heritage to Hard Rock

Let me tell you about my Mummy and Daddy's whole day out with their friends. Mummy is going to start her new job on Monday so in the meantime she has a whole week off. Daddy took leave today to take her out and so did their friends Aunty Chia Yin, Uncle Kok Hsiang, Uncle Steven and Uncle Max. Aren't they kind to do so? :)

So anyway, in the morning, Mummy and Daddy dropped me at Ah Mah's place. Before they left, they took a photo each with me. See, my face is kind of sad because I don't get to go kai-kai with them. Please take me with you when I am older, ok?

Since Mummy watched the drama series "The Little Nyonya", she has wanted to go to see the Pinang Peranakan Mansion here in Penang because they filmed several scenes there. Daddy promised to take her on his day off so they went together with Uncle Steven and Uncle Kok Hsiang. They took many many pictures today so Mummy had to make collages of some of the pictures because there are too many to post up here!

The mansion is very beautiful and full of antiques. From here you can see the centre photo is the main courtyard and all the other photos around it are taken in different rooms of the mansion.

Mummy and Daddy and their friends also took photos of themselves in the mansion.
Clockwise from left:
1. Mummy pretending to be a nyonya using the mortar and pestle
2. Mummy posing with the beautiful baju kebaya
3. Mummy and Daddy and their friends pretending to play at the mahjong table
4. Photo taken with their guide
5. Mummy posing next to a plant in the courtyard
6. Mummy and Daddy in the "kissing chair" (there really is such a thing!)
7. Mummy pretending to cook yummy nyonya dishes
8. Mummy and Daddy on the main staircase of the mansion
There were plenty more photos taken but not all could be posted here. Mummy will try to put them on Facebook when she has the time.

After the Pinang Peranakan Mansion, the next stop was E&O Hotel for a scrumptious buffet lunch. Mummy and Daddy enjoyed themselves here before so they decided to go again. Aunty Chia Yin and Uncle Max joined them here. Aunty Chia Yin was late though as she had to attend a meeting at work in the morning. Nevertheless, as the picture shows, she still managed to enjoy her food! After the meal, they took photos in the garden by the beach.

Later, they proceeded to the spanking new Hard Rock Hotel in Batu Ferringhi. The hotel is very new and modern and they took lots of photos there as well. The pool is really nice and there are even rooms which balconies open right into the pool. Isn't that cool? Mummy and Daddy, please take me there to play when I am bigger, ok?

They were there to watch the sunset. You can see Mummy and Daddy's silhouette in this photo. How romantic! :)

After Hard Rock, they proceeded to have dinner at End of the World seafood at Teluk Bahang. They ordered lobster thermidor, fried fish with thai chilly sauce, fried squid, sambal asparagus, vietnamese chicken and fried "mee teow". All the food was very good, especially the fried "mee teow", and it was so "laku" that Daddy only remembered to take a photo of it when it was all gone! So there is no photo of the "mee teow" here :p

So all in all, it was a very fun day for Mummy and Daddy and their friends. Happy Mummy and Daddy! :)
