Starting them young

As mentioned in the previous post, Hannah is now a "jie-jie" to her little cousin. The evening after she was born, we made a trip to the hospital to visit her. Hannah was rather excited and she kept on saying 'baby, baby" when she saw her little cousin and the other babies in the nursery. I think the nurse must have been quite amused because she carried Hannah into the nursery and asked if she would like to give her cousin a kiss. She promptly kissed the baby on the cheek, and then the baby woke up and started crying! Oh dear.

Anyhow, she will now have a little playmate more her age as her other cousins are all grown up now. The baby will be living at MIL's place during the confinement month so Hannah can spend lots of time with her. We hope that Hannah will be a good big sister to her. She can also do small chores nowadays, like taking things for people and picking up her own toys, so hopefully she can also help out her Ah Mah in little ways while her Ah Mah is busy with the baby. It's good to start them young :)

Speaking of which, we have started Hannah to learn how to save in her own piggy (or rather "froggy") bank. She loves to take "puat-puat" (coins in Hokkien) and her Daddy and Ah Gong will always indulge her with guess what? Feeding coins into other people's parking meters! So I decided rather than letting her do that, she may as well start to save in her own little "tabung".

So now almost everyday, when she asks for "puat-puat", we give her the coins and the froggy bank, and she is contented to put in the coins to the coin slot. Starting them young :)
