Hannah has this big picture book given to her by her cousins, so we have been teaching her to "read" the words (more likely she is recognising the pictures in the book) and she so far knows almost all the words on the first page.

My new room
Daddy, Mummy and I finally moved into our new home last Sunday. It took quite a lot of work, (especially on Daddy's part) but it's finally all done and all of us can get some rest. Daddy did a really good job with the painting of the house (he did it all by himself) and decorating ideas.
Anyway, these are some pictures of my new bedroom/toy room/entertainment room :) Daddy and Mummy says it's all in one so I can play with my friends and cousins here while Daddy and Mummy entertain their guests when they come over.
My bed and chest of drawers were bought from Ikea. The bed is pretty cool as it can be extended as I grow. It is now the smallest size but can be pulled out two lengths more until it extends to a full-sized single bed. However, the bed needs a special mattress (also bought from Ikea) as the mattress also comes in 3 pieces, to be put as extensions as the bed extends.
The chest of drawers was only RM199 and it looks really nice so Mummy and Daddy said that it had to somehow or other fit in the car as it would be wasted if not bought! So after a lot of adjusting, everything managed to fit. Not bad for a Proton Exora.
The curtains and wallpaper were done by Suk Fen Ku-Ku's husband, Uncle Sam. Mummy and Daddy chose the design - the idea was to make my room as colourful as possible.
On the other side is my flower night light and my little table (both from Ikea as well). Below that are my boxes of toys and Daddy stuck additional wall stickers which we got from Tesco around the night light wire.
In front of my bed are my book and CD cabinets together with my ball-pool. My cousins had a really fun time in my room when they came over the other day. Daddy says the TV is to entertain me for now so I can watch my DVDs in my room and not hog the Astro :p However, when I am bigger, they will control my TV time so that I don't spend too much time watching TV. I guess this is the favourite thing in my room at the moment though - Mummy and Daddy think the white TV and DVD player are really special and matches the colours in my room.
The other day, Mummy asked me, "Hannah, do you like your new room?" I nodded my head and then she asked "What is inside your room". I told her "White, white". Mummy then asked me what is "white". I answered "TV" and after that "Put, put". Mummy said, "Put what?" I told her with a smile on my face "Mouse!" (Mickey Mouse).
On the day we moved in, Ah Mah, Ah Gong, all my Ku-Ku and cousins came over for steamboat dinner. The previous time we had steamboat last Chinese New Year, I was too young to enjoy it. This year, I was patiently (or rather, impatiently) waiting for my fishballs to cook in the soup.
I also played a song to entertain everyone :)
The first night in the new house, I found it a bit difficult to sleep, so I sat with Daddy in the living room and watched TV for a while. I finally went to sleep at 11pm. Daddy and Mummy are hoping that I slowly learn to sleep on my own now that I have a nice new room. We'll just have to see!

Some recent photos of Hannah
Hannah has become quite domesticated lately in that she likes to "cook" and "wash" - much better than her Mummy! :p So we have lately being buying her quite a few "masak-masak" (cooking) toys and she can entertain herself quite happily by playing "cook".
Recently however, she has taken it one step further and likes to "wash" her cooking toys. She insists on us bringing a chair to the kitchen sink and she wants to wash her pots and plates and utensils.
Why are you disturbing me?
Of course, after that, she will be equally as "washed" as her toys so it is time for change of clothes. She thoroughly enjoys it though!
Also, the other day we took her to Chicken Rice Shop to have dinner. I took her there once before and she seemed to like the rice and chicken and fish ball. But she was not a very good girl that day as she refused to eat her food. Her Daddy bought her a little chick toy to play with while we ate.

Hannah's new philosophy
We were driving in the car yesterday when she spotted some colourful kid's clothes in one of the shops that we drove past.

Mummy in Singapore
Mummy was away in Singapore for 3 days for work. Daddy did not go with her this time as he had work to do. The day before she left, Mummy told me that I had to be a good girl and stay with Daddy when she is away. But I kept saying "bu yao, bu yao" (don't want) and "go, go". But Mummy promised me that she would take me on a plane when I am bigger.
The next day, Daddy and I took Mummy to the airport and I had McDonald's pancakes for breakfast. They are very yummy and I like them a lot. I kept asking Daddy to put "sweet, sweet" (maple syrup) for me, but I was not allowed to have too much.
Before Mummy went in to the departure hall, I gave Mummy a big kiss and waved goodbye.
This was where Mummy had to go to work:
On Saturday night, Mummy told Daddy that she had dinner here: Ippudo at Mandarin Gallery. Apparently it is famous for their ramen. People have to queue for hours to get in here. There is a special table at the entrance just for people to wait (picture below).
Look at the queue! And even after Mummy had finished her meal, the queue was still this long.
Anyhow, Mummy is glad to be home. Singapore is nice, but home is nicer. And I am also happy to have Mummy home! Yesterday when she came to fetch me from Ah Mah's place, I opened my arms wide for her to carry me and she got a big hug from me.
It was so funny, Mummy asked me, "Hannah did you miss Mummy?" and I kissed her instead. Mummy said I must have heard "kiss" instead of "miss" :)

Hannah's 5-minute "manicure"
Hannah likes to "ai sui" (want to look pretty) very much these days. Recently she has discovered the joys of getting a "manicure". During the school holidays, her cousins had these nail deco stickers applied to their nails by their mother so she wanted them too. Now whenever she sees her aunt, she will ask her to "put, put!".
Here is the result:

The whole process took approximately five minutes (only!) but because the video was too big to upload, I have put up just a short one. She managed to find a bottle of red nail polish and waved it around saying "red, red!". She knows the colours red, orange, black and white so far.
Once finished, she blew on her fingers so they would dry faster. For days after that, she will walk around showing people her fingers and saying "mei-mei" (pretty).
I have such a diva for a daughter :p

Shake, shake!
Hannah's new favourite video to watch in the car is "Bananas in Pyjamas - Singing Time". There is a "shake, shake" song in there which she will always dance to.
This is a milder version of her "shake, shake" dancing as most of the time she will be very vigorous indeed! :)

Welcoming 2011
This New Year, we celebrated among ourselves with a small family dinner at Everyday Supreme Restaurant (Tian Tian as it is more well-known).
We were there with my parents-in-law:
And my sister-in-law with her two daughters.
The food there is excellent. We had (from left clockwise) sweet and sour pork, asparagus with sambal, homemade tofu, and onion fried chicken.
This is one of their specialty dishes: curry fish or prawn with bread - very delicious.
For dessert we had honeydew sago and wor peng (Chinese pancake). The pancake usually comes with peanut soup, but since none of us likes peanut soup, we substituted it for the honeydew sago which was very refreshing and not too sweet. I forgot to take a photo of the pancake until it was almost finished!
Hannah had fun too, running around the restaurant. We had to each grab her to take a picture with us :)
She also enjoyed her food and she was busy eating her "ko-kruch" (Koko Krunch) before the meal started. I always bring snacks in my bag to keep her occupied as she gets restless if she has to wait too long. She insisted on using the fork and spoon to eat her Koko Krunch.
And one for Daddy:
After she had her rice and tofu and chicken, she spent the time exploring the restaurant.
And running up and down together with her cousin. The picture is blur as she was indeed running very fast!
The next day, we went to Queensbay Mall for lunch. On our last few trips there, we never managed to get Hannah any free balloons that we saw people carrying around. So this time we went to the one place where we knew that we could get her a balloon - TGIF! :)
And she not only got one balloon, she got three! She was busy trying to hold all of them together (one more was on the chair).
She has also recently got into this cute habit of folding her arms so her Daddy says she looks like a little "taukeh" (boss). So now whenever he says "taukeh!" she folds her arms like this:

Her kids' meal of fish and chips was free with any adult main dish.
