Heidi's Full Moon

Little Heidi turns exactly one month old today. It seems like just yesterday that I was in the labour room giving birth to her and now she is already one month old.

We had our paediatrician's check up today for her necessary injections and her birth weight has increased by 1 kg to 3.87 kg (she was 2.82 kg at birth). However, she is still a little bit jaundiced so doctor advised to stop the breastfeeding completely for 48 hours and they will do a comparison of the jaundice level again on Thursday. If it has gone down by 50%, then the jaundice is due to the breastmilk and I can go back to breastfeeding as usual. Breastfeeding with Heidi has been more successful than with Hannah - but I will save that for another post.

So anyway, the tradition is that the full moon can be celebrated earlier for baby girls, so we did Heidi's on Saturday, 5 May 2012. Hubby bought her a new outfit for the ocassion and here is she is all dressed up, ready to go!


For Hannah previously we ordered the "nasi kunyit" (glutinous rice) packages for her full moon, but we found it quite a hassle to distribute, so this time around, we settled for KFC vouchers. To make it more presentable, Hubby had the idea to put the vouchers in colourful envelopes and clip a litle teddy bear on them. We bought up all the teddy bears from Living Cabin in Queensbay Mall and almost all from Tesco E-Gate :)


Family picture with Hannah and Heidi - Hannah insisted on wearing a matching outfit with her little sister, so we found a white top and red pants (good thing she already has them!) for her to wear.
