E&O staycation

My sister had her wedding reception in Penang at the E&O Hotel, so we were booked for a night there. Tip: Book a Corner Suite at the Victory Annexe wing - you won't regret it!

The moment we entered the room, the wow factor was there. This has so far got to be the best hotel room I have stayed in, even better than Rasa Sayang here in Penang or the Four Seasons in Bangkok. It had a dining area, living area, huge bathroom with free standing bathtub (which the girls loved!), double rainshowers and a big balcony with an amazing view.

Check out the photo grid which I posted on Instagram:

The little girls all dressed up for dinner downstairs:

This was Heidi's first time as flower girl and we thought she would be afraid but she did very well, holding my sister's hand as they walked into the ballroom.

Our girls with the bride and groom waiting to walk in.

I had a baby or toddler most of the time in my arms that night (partly why it was a good idea not bringing them to Australia) so I didn't manage to take a lot of pictures. Here are some that I do have:

The next day, after breakfast, we took the girls to the pool at the Victory Annexe at the Planter's Lounge on the 6th floor. Guests at the Victory Annexe have the option of having breakfast at the Planter's Lounge or at Sarkies downstairs. They sure had a ton of fun. Little Helene enjoyed dipping her feet in the pool as well. She couldn't go in because she was still having a bit of a runny nose.

It was lovely, E&O. We will be back.

Weekend Getaway

Hubby and I had a short but much needed vacation this past weekend. We had initially wanted to bring Hannah, but as Hubby's mother and sister very kindly agreed to look after her, we decided to leave her with them.

We checked into Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa late on Saturday afternoon (Hubby was working in the morning) and checked out on Sunday afternoon.

This was the view from our room balcony at the Garden Wing.

It was supposed to be a weekend of rest and relaxation, but out tummies did not really have much of either! At night, we had the seafood buffet dinner at the Spice Market Cafe.

There was a really big spread at the buffet. We could not even try every single thing as there was just too much food! Besides seafood, there was Japanese, Indian, Western, etc. I will let the photos do the talking:

Fresh yabbies:

Fruits for the chocolate fondue:

The chocolate fondue:

Salad bar:

Sushi counter:

Lobsters, scallops and prawns cooked in either a tom yam or ginger sauce - needless to say, this was the most popular counter at the buffet:

Fresh oysters:

Noodle station:

Freshly made crepes with ice cream - and lots more desserts!

After the sumptious dinner, we took some photos around the hotel.

The next day, for breakfast there was a huge spread again. I had my favourite waffles - look how pretty they made them :)

And we took more photos:

Such a serene landscape:

We took a swim on Saturday evening (more like a dip in the pool for me), but on Sunday I just lazed around while Hubby took another swim:

And then it was time to leave - we hope to be back soon! :)
