Suffolk House, Penang

On my birthday this year, Hubby took me to a nice restaurant here in Penang which many people may not know about. It's an old heritage house which part of it has been turned into a fine dining restaurant. The place itself is called Suffolk House and the location is just behind Methodist Boys' School.

My parents were so kind as to look after Hannah so we could go and have a nice lunch. We both took off from work on the day so we could spend more time together. It was supposed to be dinner, but Hubby was called to a late meeting at the last minute so we did lunch instead.

When he called to book and enquire, he was told that it would be between RM85 to RM120 per person, however, when we came for lunch, we were pleasantly surprised to see that the prices were very affordable, ranging from between 30 something to 50 something plus plus per set. The price he was quoted was probably for their dinner sets which are more elaborate.

For starters, I had the salad which was very delicious. I am not a food blogger so I am not that good in describing the food, therefore I will let the pictures do the talking.



Hubby had the soup which was a strange mixture of peas and mint, but it tasted very good!



For the main course we had chicken and salmon. Hubby's chicken was really good with the orange flavour being infused into the chicken. My salmon was also very fresh and the mash potatoes which came with it were scrumptious!



For dessert it was chocolate brownies with ice cream. The brownies were warm and soft and chocolatey, just the way I like it! And the ice cream was chock-full of nuts, chocolate chips and cherries (probably made by the chef himself and not bought from the store).

Thanks Hubby for a wonderful afternoon! I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys eating, drinking and taking in a wonderful view! :)

Mummy's birthday Part 3

On Mummy's real birthday, we had a small celebration in the morning together with Nanna, Gong Gong and Ee Ee. Look at the cake Daddy bought..doesn't it look yummy? ;) It was Mummy's favourite ice-cream flavour - cookies and cream :)



I helped Mummy to blow the candles:



And I helped her to cut the cake too!



We then took a family picture but I was more interested in the cake.

Later that evening, Daddy had to go to work for a meeting so all of us minus Daddy went to Mummy's favourite restaurant for dinner - Mario's Ristorante at Batu Ferringhi. It serves very good Italian food. But even though Daddy couldn't join us, he took Mummy out for a nice lunch while Nanna and Gong Gong looked after me. Daddy and Mummy's romantic lunch will be posted here soon :)

The nice Aunty at the restaurant gave me colour pencils and a picture to colour. Mummy says this is a picture of Barney the dinosaur. I coloured this picture (with Mummy's help, of course) to give to Daddy. Nice or not? :)



We had a birthday cake there as well. Looks yummy!

Flu-fun

See Hannah's new hair-do: her Daddy says she looks like Chun Li the streetfighter. And here's her weapon, her colourful fan! Haha..



Remember we mentioned that Hannah had running nose these few days? Well, she really really dislikes her nose to be wiped, but sometimes it can't be helped, otherwise her face will be an entire mess!

So Hubby devised a game to play with her to get her to allow us to wipe her nose. The game is that she gets to wipe Daddy's nose, and in return we get to wipe her nose! She could actually "wipe" and she was so amused by it that she was giggling away. In the end, Daddy's nose was getting wiped more often than her nose! ;)

Mummy's birthday Part 2

On Sunday we celebrated Mummy's birthday with Uncle Steven, Uncle Max, Aunty Chia Yin & Uncle Kok Hsiang, Uncle June Siang, Aunty Teera and Adeline Ee Ee. We went to 32 The Mansion. Everyone dressed up so I also wore a pretty dress.

We took a nice family photo but I was quite sleepy and cranky. See my face.



I was also having running nose which contributed to my crankiness.

I had gone home by this time, so I didn't get to take photos with the birthday cake and help Mummy to blow out her candles. Perhaps next time, ya Mummy.

Saturday with Daddy

Last Saturday, for a change, Mummy went to work and Daddy stayed at home with me instead. Daddy took some nice photos of me.





What am I looking at?



Look at my new toy! Daddy took me to the toy shop on Kimberley Street because he wanted to buy me a high chair so I can sit at the table and have reunion dinner on Chinese New Year eve with everyone. But on top of buying the high chair, I got this too! Honk honk, look out, I'm coming!

Mummy's birthday Part 1

Mummy will have a few birthday celebrations this year, with her friends, her colleagues, Daddy's friends, Nanna & Gong Gong & Adeline Ee Ee, and with me! :) How fun for Mummy and for me too! :)

So anyway, to kick it off, we had an early birthday celebration with Aunty Jenny, Uncle Szu Fu, Aunty Ai Nee and Ko Ko Darrel at TGIF, Queensbay Mall just this past Saturday.

The only thing that Mummy didn't like about TGIF is that they make the birthday person do embarassing stuff like sing songs and give speeches before they give you a free birthday cake, which Mummy refused to do. Haha. So instead of Mummy singing, the waitresses at the restaurant sang instead, very LOUDLY. I think that was equally as embarrassing to Mummy. We got the free cake anyway! :)

After dinner at TGIF, we went to Starbucks for drinks. I really wanted Daddy's drink, but unfortunately I don't know how to drink from a straw yet, so I just "pretend" to drink :)



I didn't want to let go of the straw! I was biting on it really hard. Oh, by the way, did I tell you that I have 2 bottom teeth coming out? It's making me drool a lot and be cranky a lot, which is why you don't see me smiling a lot in these photos. Daddy and Mummy can't really get a picture of my 2 little teeth because I refuse to open my mouth and show them. They can only see it when I laugh or when I cry.



Oops, Ko Ko Darrel gave me a kiss! *blush*



Daddy and Mummy also took this opportunity to "show off" my new skills. I now know how to clap my hands together. Before clapping I am actually doing "Gong Xi Gong Xi" which Daddy and Mummy tried to teach me in time for Chinese New Year. But I haven't really got the hang of "Gong Xi Gong Xi" yet :) Do you think that I can get more ang pow if I can do it nicely? ;)



I also can do "bye bye" which I have learnt for some time now. This is for Nanna's benefit because she told Mummy that she wants to see me do "bye bye". But as you can see, I was getting sleepy, so it's only about 1 second of "bye bye". Don't worry Nanna, I will "bye bye" a lot for you when I see you in Penang soon! :)
