Cafe-hunting in Penang: Ice Estate

The weekend before last, my sister-in-law took us to this place called Ice Estate. From the outside, it looks like a hole-in-the-wall place, but the interior was surprisingly cosy and it also has accommodation all the way from the Victoria Street entrance to the Beach Street entrance. I didn't take any pictures of the cafe itself because our hands were full with 2 adults looking after 4 kids!

Their specialty is their liquid nitrogen home-made ice cream, so that is what we had. We had the oreo, mango and strawberry flavours.

We also had one of their waffle creations. It was a savoury waffle, but tasted pretty good!

Girls were patiently waiting for the food to arrive. Helene was busy chatting as usual. Her mouth is always moving, either by talking or eating! Haha.

Smile for the camera!

These two were also happily entertaining themselves.

When the food came, it was time to dig in!

Selfie with mummy:

It was quite an interesting place, we will be back I'm sure!

Little posers

Check out our little posers:

Heidi at 4 months old and 4 years old. We asked her to do the same pose at the same place haha.

This one is a born poser. No need to ask lol.

And these 2 -  cousins and BFFs! They look pretty cool in their shades.

Saturday morning at the beach

We took the girls to the beach last Saturday. We were initially supposed to go with some friends to another beach at Balik Pulau, but they couldn't make it. So as not to disappoint the girls, we took them to the public beach behind Flamingo Hotel at Tanjung Bungah (formerly Crown Prince Hotel).

As expected, the girls really enjoyed the beach. We started out a little late, so the sun was coming up hence we didn't stay that long. Next time we will go earlier in the morning or later in the evening and make it a proper picnic :)

It was a beautiful day, and the sky and sea were so blue. It made me realise that sometimes we don't have to go far to enjoy the beauty of God's creation. Penang's beaches are just as nice as those in Thailand or Bali! :)

First order of business, into the sea (feet only)!

Clearly this little one was not too happy about being taken out of the water haha.

Then it was time to make "sandcastles". The girls had brought their beach toys so they set to work.

When the kids were busy, Mummy and Daddy had time to take selfies haha.

It was a fun morning, we will be back!
