3H in KL

During the Hari Raya break, we decided to make a short trip to KL. As expected, the roads were generally clear, as all the city folk had "balik kampung" but the mall was packed full of people. We made the wise decision to stay at Boulevard hotel at Midvalley, so we didn't really need to go anywhere else. It wouldn't have been easy also, with 3 little kids. It was actually Helene's first time in KL, actually it was her first time anywhere out of Penang lol.

So anyway, we arrived just after lunch and checked into our hotel. Helene has this thing about beds, especially big ones and she was so happy to just roll around when she saw the double bed in our room.

She also enjoyed playing with the telephone, so much so we had to disconnect the phone to stop her from pulling it all the time lol.

She enjoyed her breakfast too!

And she enjoyed swimming even more!

And so did Hannah and Heidi. I have more pictures of Helene as Hannah and Heidi were busy running off doing their own things. But Heidi did stop to give me a nice picture of herself :)

One of the highlights of our trip was here:

We actually went back twice, despite the never-ending queues! It's just normal ice cream but some how the queuing and the toppings made it a novelty. Hannah was in 7th heaven, as can be expected :)

They revisited old favourites. Click on the link to see Hannah enjoying this place when she was only 2 years old.

And of course, when all else fails, there is McDonald's!

Even little Helene loves her fries (although she shouldn't have too much of it!)

And that about sums up our short + sweet trip. KL, we'll be back!

Helene's first time at Penang Botanic Gardens

It has been a few weeks since my last post, and no, there's no sign of Helene walking yet! Last Tuesday was a public holiday in Penang, being Heritage Day, so we decided to take the girls for a jog/walk at the Botanic Gardens.

Hannah and Heidi needed no introduction, so they jogged alongside Daddy, with cautions to be careful around the monkeys! Look at their red faces from all the activity and running, but oh-so-happy!

Hubby said that both Hannah and Heidi learnt their first steps here, so Helene should try too! So he put her down and she could walk one step after another with help. She was so happy when her feet touched the grass! But it was not so good news for her crib shoes haha. Anyway I bought her a pair of cruising shoes soon after, so now she can practise walking anytime.

It's really nice and green at the Botanic Gardens. Hopefully it will be here for many years to come and not have to make way for any more development on the island.
