Hari Raya long weekend

Last weekend, we had a long weekend as it was the Hari Raya public holiday on Monday and Tuesday. So including Saturday and Sunday, we had 4 days off!

On Saturday, it was our friend Steven's birthday. The adults had celebrated with him the night before at Ferringhi Garden, so the next day, it was a kiddie day with Uncle Steven! We had lunch at Texas Chicken 1st Avenue (which is really good, by the way!) and proceeded to Redbox karaoke after that. It was free for the kids, but they were the ones who really enjoyed themselves, singing and dancing. Helene especially couldn't keep still and was dancing away. I was supposed to bring her to dinner that night with my aunt, uncle and cousin but she fell asleep and slept through dinner time after all that dancing!

The next day which was Sunday, we took the kids to watch Despicable Me 3 together with our friends again. We attempted to bring Helene to the cinema for the 2nd time, but like the first time, she couldn't last through the movie. So I had to bring her out halfway again. We had McDonald's for lunch after that, all the kids' favourite!

On Sunday afternoon, we had planned a picnic on the private beach of Penang Swimming Club (PSC) as Hubby's partner is a member there. We didn't tell the girls until the last minute so they were super excited!

While the kids had their fun in the sea and sand, the "aunties" had their picnic on the beach haha.

Then on Monday, the same picnic group went back to PSC again for dinner and karaoke. It was a very nice view from the Captain's Restaurant where we had dinner.

Helene as usual was up to mischief. She mixed salt and pepper from the shakers together with water and was force-feeding it to everyone around!

 After dinner, the kids had Baskin Robbins ice-cream. Only RM4.80 per scoop at PSC :)

Then it was karaoke time. No surprises who hogged the microphones :p

On Tuesday, we didn't have anything planned, so we headed to Youth Park! Love how blue the sky is and how green the grass.

So that was the end of our Raya long weekend where we cuti-cuti Penang! Looking forward to the next long weekend!

Back again at Youth Park

It has been more than a year since we were at Youth Park, and this month, the girls were there twice! Earlier in the month when I was in Hong Kong for work, Hubby took them and sent me this photo. It did make me miss them, and look at Helene's cheeky face!

So last weekend, we went again. Helene headed straight for the slides!

Their cousins came to join them later so just nice 4 people on the see saw. Earlier it was Mummy and Helene on one side, Hannah and Heidi on the other side. Haha.

And then it was time for badminton!

3H at Youth Park

We took the girls to the accessible playground at Youth Park the other day. We had not been here for some time and the last time that Helene was here was almost a year ago. That time, she had to be contented to watch her sisters and the other kids enjoying themselves. This time, she could join in the fun! Check out her happy cheeky face :)

But Hannah, now being a "big girl", no longer has the interest (or the patience!) to put up with her mummy's camera-happy ways haha.

Youth Park on a Saturday morning

A couple of Saturdays ago, the kids all woke up early so we decided to take them out for some fresh air. We hadn't been to the main playground at Youth Park for some time, so the girls were raring to go. It was also Helene's first time there.

I tried her on the swing and she wasn't very sure whether she liked it or not at first.

But I suppose she did after a while :)

Then she tried the little rocky things:

The other two were having a ton of fun as well. Look at Hannah squeezing her sister's face and Heidi having a funny face as a result :p

Hannah also was a good big sister by helping to push Heidi on the swings.

Then they swung (swang? swinged?) together.

Now that Heidi is bigger, she can pretty much slide by herself. Of course, all the time at McDonald's playrooms certainly helped!

The one-handed manoeuvre

Baby Helene is exactly 8 months old today. She sticks like a little koala to me, so much so that one morning when I woke up extra early (Hubby was still asleep with the other two), I literally had to do everything with one hand. Brush my teeth, wear my contacts, pack my bag etc. I used one hand while the other hand carried her on my hip. Let's hope she learns to entertain herself soon enough, like her Heidi Jie Jie because the bigger she gets, the harder it will be to pull off the one hand manoeuvre.

She can now sit up steadily, roll over both sides and has an immensely healthy appetite lol. Her nanny says she has porridge twice a day (sometimes substituted with organic baby oats), and even after porridge, she must have milk or else she won't be satisfied. She can eat 2 bananas a day, sometimes mixed in her oats. Her porridge has carrots, pumpkin and other mushy vegetables which are easy to digest. Now that she's 8 months, we also give her little bites of bread, biscuits and the other day, she had a teeny weensy taste of vanilla ice cream, which she loved and kept licking her lips haha.

She is also starting to have teeth, and two little ones are growing at the bottom, but they are not visible yet. It makes her drool a lot though, I posted this photo on The Breastfeeding Advocates Network with the caption "Mummy's milk is so yummy it makes me drool!" Lol
