Helene is 1 on 23.4!

Our littlest princess turned 1 on 23.4 (just a play on numbers haha). This is going to be quite a picture heavy post so do bear with me. We had a nice buffet dinner at Evergreen Laurel (the same place where we did Heidi's 1st birthday) with our extended family members and some close friends.

We were debating whether or not to send her to her nanny's house during the day, since I was on leave and thought of spending some time with her. But in the end we decided for her to go to nanny's house so that her routine, especially her naptimes, will not be disrupted and she will be well rested for her party in the evening. So I dressed her up in a pretty new dress (usually she just goes in her pyjamas lol). She seemed to know that it was a special day and she was quite excited!

Our 3 princesses:

This was her happy self in the car on the way to the party, wearing another new dress. All her new dresses were bought by our friends when she was younger, but since she is quite petite, they were just nice for her to wear now :)

We requested our usual corner of the restaurant, and the hotel was obliging to give it to us, and they also prepared a table for the cake and presents. The set up did look quite nice and I was very pleased.

I was also wearing a new dress - RM32.00 only, and my hair had a wash and blow for RM5.00. In times of GST we have to spend wisely haha.

Birthday girl with Nanna:

With Chim Poh and Chek Kong (grand aunt and grand uncle) who look after her while Mummy and Daddy are at work:

 With Nanna and Gong Gong:

This is one of her favourite aunts, Jessie. She gets so excited everytime to see her, even though she sees her almost every day (her grand aunt's daughter).

With Ah Mah and Ah Gong:

And then we had the cake! We ordered from Jenni cake house as usual, and we gave her the little ponies to be used as cake toppers. We chose the My Little Pony theme since Helene is a little pony :)

Once Helene saw the cake, all our photo-taking efforts went out the window! She just kept wanting to get to the cake! We did try however to take some family shots, but she was pretty distracted haha.

She got to try lots of different types of food. Incidentally, at her one year check up, her pediatrician said that she should be eating adult food and there was no need to cook special food for her. So char koay teow, here we come! Perhaps it was because of her petite size (she is the minimum weight for a one year old - 8.7 kg), but you would never think that she could be petite considering her appetite. This little girl loves to eat!

I just love this expression on her face. She looks like she could be thinking a million mischievous thoughts!

Happy that she gets yummy food!

Here are some of the guests at the party - Hubby's best friends from school and their families:

With the docs - Tze Ming and Jacintha, and their daughter Samyra:

And then it was time to cut the cake! Everyone sang a loud birthday song for the birthday girl.

She was so happy to cut the cake - maybe she thought that now she gets to eat it!

I love this candid shot of us - Helene flashing a big smile at me. I can't remember what the joke was though haha.

 So happy!

First bite of cake for the birthday girl. It was mostly cream lol.

Happy 1st birthday to our sweet precious Helene! As we enter your 2nd year of life and all the coming years, Mummy and Daddy pray that you stay healthy, happy and that you continue to bring us joy always! Lots of love from all of us.

Youth Park on a Saturday morning

A couple of Saturdays ago, the kids all woke up early so we decided to take them out for some fresh air. We hadn't been to the main playground at Youth Park for some time, so the girls were raring to go. It was also Helene's first time there.

I tried her on the swing and she wasn't very sure whether she liked it or not at first.

But I suppose she did after a while :)

Then she tried the little rocky things:

The other two were having a ton of fun as well. Look at Hannah squeezing her sister's face and Heidi having a funny face as a result :p

Hannah also was a good big sister by helping to push Heidi on the swings.

Then they swung (swang? swinged?) together.

Hannah also tried some new apparatus which wasn't there before:

Cheeky Heidi:

Helene had a go on the see saw:

Now that Heidi is bigger, she can pretty much slide by herself. Of course, all the time at McDonald's playrooms certainly helped!

Heidi is 3!

Heidi's birthday was last week, on 8 April 2015. So when we asked her where she wanted to celebrate this year, she said McDonald's! Since it was her birthday, we indulged her and the kids really got to eat all the fast food and ice cream they wanted, which they usually don't get on a normal day.

We booked the private room at McDonald's Bandar Sri Pinang (Karpal Singh Drive). They don't have birthday packages nowadays, but you just have to buy compulsory party packs from them. The room was nice an big though, so the kids could really run around, and the play room is just next door.

Heidi wanted a princess theme for her birthday, so we tried to get as many "princessy" things as we could find. Her favourite princess is Cinderella (for now!), so she chose the Cinderella party hat.

She was so excited, flashing her "smile until cannot see her eyes" grin everywhere :)

My brother in law and his girlfriend got her this to decorate the room.

Even her birthday cake had a princess theme. We have bought her cakes from Jenni cake house 3 years in a row and so far she has never failed to deliver. This time we gave her our own princess figurines and she did a really good job with the cake decorations.

Birthday girl with Daddy and Mummy:

Even little Helene got into the party mood and was so well-behaved even though it was way past her bed-time.

After a while, it was time to cut the cake. All her little friends sang a very loud birthday song for her, as can be seen from the wide open mouths haha.

And after that, it was present time!

She had told everyone prior to this that she wanted Cinderella for her birthday, so we ended up with this! She loves all of them though :)

Happy birthday to our sweet Heidi! 3 years old already, no more a toddler. Daddy, Mummy, Hannah and Helene love you very much!
